Pisolithus is a genus of fungi within the family Sclerodermataceae (suborder Sclerodermatineae). The type species, P. arenarius, is now known to be synonymous with P. arhizus.
The rich and rare biodiversity of Cyprus includes 1,908 plants, 780 seashells, 250 fish, over 7,000 insects, 410 birds including migratory species, 31 mammals, 9 snakes, 11 lizards, 3 amphibians, 120 land snails, an estimated 5,000–8,000 fungi and 3 turtles.
