Η Παραλία Περιστέρι βρίσκεται στην απομακρυσμένη άκρη της χερσονήσου της Καρπασίας, λίγο μετά το ιστορικό Μοναστήρι του Αποστόλου Ανδρέα και στον δρόμο προς το ομώνυμο ακρωτήρι. Αποτελεί μέρος μιας ιδιαίτερα άγριας και ελάχιστα ανεπτυγμένης ακτογραμμής, όπου το φυσικό τοπίο διατηρεί σε μεγάλο βαθμό τον αυθεντικό χαρακτήρα του.

Το Ακρωτήρι Αποστόλου Ανδρέα σχηματίζει το βορειοανατολικότερο σημείο της κύριας νήσου της Κύπρου και βρίσκεται περίπου πέντε χιλιόμετρα βορειοανατολικά του μοναστηριού. Μπροστά από το ακρωτήρι απλώνονται οι βραχώδεις και ακατοίκητες νησίδες Κλείδες, οι οποίες αποτελούν το ανατολικότερο άκρο ολόκληρης της Κύπρου.

Η ευρύτερη περιοχή της Χερσονήσου της Καρπασίας και των Κλείδων έχει αναγνωριστεί ως Σημαντική Περιοχή για τα Πουλιά και ως Περιοχή-Κλειδί για τη Βιοποικιλότητα. Οι Κλείδες αποτελούν ιδιαίτερα σημαντικό θαλάσσιο οικοσύστημα και φιλοξενούν τη μοναδική γνωστή αποικία αναπαραγωγής της Κοραλλόγλαρας (Ichthyaetus audouinii) στην Κύπρο, καθώς και σημαντική αποικία του Θαλασσοκόρακα (Gulosus aristotelis).

Peristeri Beach and Cape Apostolos Andreas – Cyprus

Peristeri Beach is situated at the remote end of the Karpasia Peninsula, shortly after the historic Apostolos Andreas Monastery and along the route leading towards the cape of the same name. It forms part of a wild and largely undeveloped coastline whose natural landscape has retained much of its original character.

Cape Apostolos Andreas forms the northeasternmost point of the main island of Cyprus and lies approximately five kilometres northeast of the monastery. Beyond the cape are the rocky and uninhabited Kleides Islands, which constitute the easternmost point of Cyprus.

The wider area of the Karpasia Peninsula and the Kleides Islands has been recognized as an Important Bird Area and a Key Biodiversity Area. The Kleides constitute an especially important marine ecosystem. They support the only known breeding colony of the Audouin’s Gull (Ichthyaetus audouinii) in Cyprus, as well as an important colony of the Mediterranean Shag (Gulosus aristotelis).

Ο παρών οργανωμένος κατάλογος περιλαμβάνει 153 αριθμημένες καταχωρίσεις Κολεοπτέρων που παρουσιάζονται στο ιστολόγιο, ταξινομημένες αλφαβητικά ανά οικογένεια και με συνεχή αρίθμηση. Οι 157 αναρτήσεις της ετικέτας ελέγχθηκαν και τα πραγματικά διπλότυπα ενοποιήθηκαν. Κάθε οικογένεια συνοδεύεται από το αγγλικό common name της και κάθε είδος από αγγλικό common name μόνο όταν υπάρχει καθιερωμένο ή χρησιμοποιείται στην αντίστοιχη ανάρτηση. Τα έντονα μπλε επιστημονικά ονόματα είναι ενεργοί σύνδεσμοι προς αναρτήσεις με άρθρο ή φωτογραφίες. Οι κόκκινες δίγλωσσες σημειώσεις περιορίζονται σε επιστημονικά χρήσιμες πληροφορίες, όπως ενδημικότητα, ταυτοποίηση μόνο σε επίπεδο γένους, ξενικά είδη και σημαντικές ταξινομικές διορθώσεις.

This organized checklist contains 153 numbered Coleoptera entries represented on the blog, arranged alphabetically by family and numbered continuously. All 157 label posts were checked and genuine duplicates were consolidated. Each family is followed by its English common name, and an English common name is supplied for a species only when established or used in the relevant post. Scientific names shown in bold blue are active links to posts containing an article or photographs. Red bilingual notes are limited to scientifically useful information such as endemism, genus-level identification, alien status and important taxonomic corrections.
