Russian Church of St. Andrew and All Russian Saints (Episkopio)

The majestic church is in the courtyard of the Metropolis of Tamasos and Orinis in the Nicosia district of Cyprus.

The church, under the patronage of St. Andrew and All Russian Saints, being built in a Russian style, is unparalleled on the island.

The church boasts five gold domes which arrived from St. Petersburg and the central dome, weighing nearly eight tons, was placed on the church on July 7, 2016 to the sound of chanting and fireworks, followed by a music and dance program.

The church holds 400 people and is surrounded by a large hillside garden, pavilions, a reception area, a park for disabled children with special games for those who have mobility problems, and Byzantine-style fountains of Holy Water. The “Route of Russian Holiness” with mosaics of Russian Saints is also built.

Ο ιερός ναός Αποστόλου Ανδρέα και πάντων των εν τη ρωσική γη διαλαμψάντων αγίων, κτίστηκε στον προαύλιο χώρο της Ιεράς Μητρόπολης Ταμασσού και Ορεινής. Διαθέτει 5 χρυσούς τρούλους, με τον κεντρικό μεγάλο τρούλο να ζυγίζει περίπου 7 τόνους και τους άλλους τέσσερις συνολικά 5 τόνους.

Ο 5 τρούλοι εξωτερικά είναι κατασκευασμένοι με titanium nitrid και έφτασαν από την Αγία Πετρούπολη και συναρμολογήθηκαν επί τόπου, καθώς η εγκατάσταση των τρούλων θεωρείται για τη ρωσική παράδοση το πιο σημαντικό σημείο της ανέγερσης ενός ναού.
