Μοναδικές εικόνες από τα Φλαμίνγκο στην Αλυκή της Λάρνακας - ANT1 TV NEWS 20:15 - 15/1/2017
Μοναδικές εικόνες κατέγραψε η κάμερα του Αντεννα από τα πανέμορφα φλαμίνγκο να απολαμβάνουν τα νερά της Αλυκής στη Λάρνακα. Παρά το μειωμένο αριθμό φλαμίνγκο σε σχέση με άλλες χρονιές, το θέαμα είναι απολαυστικό.
Από χίλια φλαμίνγκο έχουν ελκύσει από τον Νοέμβριο μέχρι και σήμερα οι Αλυκές της Λάρνακας και του Ακρωτηρίου, με αποτέλεσμα πλήθος κόσμου να σπεύδει για να τα απολαύσει.
Σε σχέση με πέρυσι αλλά και με άλλες χρονιές, ήρθαν πολύ λιγότερα φλαμίνγκο σύμφωνα με τον Γιώργο Κωνσταντίνου πρόεδρο του συνδέσμου προστασίας φυσικής κληρονομιάς.
«Ο λόγος είναι ότι η αποδημία τον φλαμίνγκο είναι μεταξύ Νοεμβρίου και Μαρτίου, όπως φαίνεται τον καιρό που ήρθαν τα φλαμίνγκο λόγω ανομβρίας πολύ λίγα στις Αλυκές οπότε δεν έμειναν» όπως μας είπε.
Παρά τον μικρό αριθμό προέλευσης των φλαμίνγκο, το θέαμα στην Αλυκή της Λάρνακας είναι μοναδικό.
Την ελπίδα να έρθουν περισσότερα φλαμίνγκο στο ταξίδι για την επιστροφή τους απο την Αφρική , εξέφρασε ο πρόεδρος του πτηνολογικού συνδέσμου Κύπρου ενώ μας πληροφόρησε για το που αλλού μπορεί ο κόσμος να σπεύσει να απολαύσει τα όμορφα φλαμίνγκο στην χώρα μας.
Ο Πρόεδρος Πτηνολογικού Συνδεσμου Κύπρου μας είπε ότι «Μπορεί και να έρθουν κι άλλα στην επιστροφή τους από την Αφρική. Ένας από τους καλούς τόπους για να δείτε από κοντά τα φλαμίνγκο είναι στο Spyros beach, έχει κάποιες μικρές λίμνες εκεί, έχει καμιά ογδονταριά, εκατοστή περίπου»
Ο κύριος Χαραλαμπίδης τόνισε παράλληλα ότι δεν πρέπει ο κόσμος να σπεύδει πολύ κοντά στα φλαμίνγκο γιατί τρομάζουν και απομακρύνονται.
Unique footage was captured by the ANT1 camera of the beautiful flamingos enjoying the waters of the Salt Lake in Larnaca. Despite the reduced number of flamingos compared with other years, the sight is delightful.
From November until today, around one thousand flamingos have been attracted to the Salt Lakes of Larnaca and Akrotiri, resulting in large numbers of people rushing to enjoy the spectacle.
Compared with last year, as well as with other years, far fewer flamingos arrived, according to George Konstantinou, President of the Association for the Protection of Natural Heritage.
“The reason is that the migration of the flamingos takes place between November and March. As it appears, at the time the flamingos arrived, because of the drought, only a few came to the Salt Lakes and therefore they did not stay,” he told us.
Despite the small number of flamingos present, the spectacle at Larnaca Salt Lake is unique.
The President of the Cyprus Ornithological Association expressed the hope that more flamingos would arrive during their return journey from Africa, while he also informed us about other places where the public can go to enjoy the beautiful flamingos in Cyprus.
The President of the Cyprus Ornithological Association told us:
“There may also be more arriving on their return from Africa. One of the good places to see flamingos up close is at Spyros Beach. There are some small lakes there, and there are around eighty to one hundred flamingos.”
Mr Charalambides also stressed that people should not approach the flamingos too closely, because they become frightened and move away.
