Although birders may be attracted to the large salt lake at Larnaca, the best areas are the pools, sewage ponds, beach and fields on the coastal side of the salt lake, behind the airport. These areas are particularly good for ducks, grebes, gulls, terns and waders but rare passerines have been found too.
The hide overlooking Larnaca Sewage works. The causeway between the two lagoons has previously been terrific for roosting gulls.
Looking towards the sea from Spiro’s Pool you’ll see a number of tidal pools (Spiro’s beach) that can be good for waders
