Λάμπουσα (Αρχαία Λάπηθος) της Κερύνειας - Lambousa in the district of Kyrenia , Cyprus .
Approximately 40 meters east of the monastery of Acheiropoiitos close Lambousa (Lapithos) in the district of Kyrenia, there is a monolith structure known as the church of Saint Eulambios. It has an irregular rectangular shape and outside appear "steps" which lead the roof. The current appearance of this structure is due to masonry workers. The inside is again of an irregular shape and in the western and eastern side there are carved tomb receptacles for sarcophagi. At a certain historical stage a church sanctuary was carved at the northern side, while, on the southern side there is an entrance. G. Jeffery notes that previously there used to be a narthex, while R. Gunnis mentions of remnants of murals. G. Jeffery also mentions the existence of a singular well at the south-west corner of the interior. On the roof there is a skylight.
There is no doubt that the original form of the construction was not a church. In actual fact, its an above-ground tomb carved in the rock. This is indicated by the internal styling with the tomb receptacles for receiving sarcophagi, the well and the skylight. The conversion of this tomb into a church must have taken place in later years. However, Saint Eulambios was martyred in 296 AD in Necodemea (present day Izmit) and is not connected with Cypriot tradition. Therefore it is likely that this construction has been the hermitage of Saint Eulalios also known as Saint Eulabios. It is very likely that the name Eulambios comes from Eulabios. The memory of Saint Eulambios is celebrated along with that of his sister, Eulambia, on the 10th of October
